Borroloola Motel Pty Ltd, trading as Borroloola Hotel Motel and Borroloola Supermarket, is a

long-established local business serving the Borroloola community in the Gulf region of the

Northern Territory.

We are seeking reliable and motivated individuals to join our team across our hotel, motel,

restaurant and supermarket operations.

Retail Supervisor

Responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of Borroloola Supermarket, including customer service, staff coordination, stock control and store presentation.

Key Duties:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of retail sales staff.
• Ensure customers receive prompt service and quality goods.
• Respond to customer enquiries and complaints.
• Prepare work schedules and allocate staff to specific duties.
• Train and supervise staff and assist with resolving staff issues.
• Monitor stock levels, conduct stocktakes and order new stock.
• Receive and check incoming stock and ensure goods are correctly priced and displayed.
• Operate POS systems and manage cash handling procedures.
• Ensure safety and security procedures are followed.

Requirements:

• Relevant AQF Certificate II and at least one year of full-time (or part-time equivalent) relevant work experience; or relevant AQF Certificate III with at least one year of relevant post-qualification work experience (minimum 20 hours per week); or at least one year of relevant full-time work experience in lieu of the qualification requirements.

Waiter

Responsible for providing efficient food and beverage service to guests and customers of Borroloola Hotel Motel.

Key Duties:

• Set and arrange tables for customers.
• Greet customers and present menus and beverage lists.
• Take food and beverage orders and communicate orders to kitchen and bar staff.
• Serve food and beverages and respond to customer requests.
• Recommend menu items and beverages where appropriate.
• Clear tables and maintain clean dining and service areas.
• Present bills, collect payments and operate POS machines and cash registers.
• Follow food safety and hygiene procedures.

Requirements:

• Relevant AQF Certificate II and at least one year of full-time (or part-time equivalent) relevant work experience; or relevant AQF Certificate III with at least one year of relevant post-qualification work experience (minimum 20 hours per week); or at least one year of relevant full-time work experience in lieu of the qualification requirements.

Responsible for preparing and cooking meals for guests and customers of Borroloola Hotel Motel while maintaining food quality and hygiene standards.

Key Duties:

• Examine food and ingredients to ensure quality.
• Prepare, season and cook food according to menu requirements.
• Regulate ovens, grills and other cooking equipment.
• Prepare and present meals to the required standard.
• Store food in temperature-controlled facilities.
• Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements where required.
• Monitor food supplies and estimate food requirements.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and minimise food wastage.

Requirements:

• Hold a relevant qualification equivalent to an AQF Certificate III (including two years of on-the-job training); OR hold an AQF Certificate IV with at least one year of relevant work experience; Alternatively, at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
• Good food preparation and cooking skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.

• Clean cooking equipment, utensils, dishes and cutlery.
• Wash, peel and chop vegetables and other ingredients.
• Prepare ingredients, salads, sandwiches and other basic food items.
• Assist cooks and other kitchen staff with food preparation.
• Store food and supplies appropriately.
• Cook, toast and heat food items as required.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Requirements:

• AQF Certificate I; or Completed compulsory secondary education and at least one year of full-time relevant work experience.
• Basic food preparation skills.
• Understanding of food hygiene and safety requirements.
• Ability to safely use basic kitchen equipment.

Commercial Housekeeper

Responsible for maintaining clean, hygienic and presentable guest rooms and common areas at Borroloola Hotel Motel.

Key Duties:

• Clean the interior of motel rooms, bathrooms and common areas.
• Sweep, mop and vacuum floors and clean carpets where required.
• Make beds and change linen and towels.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures and fittings.
• Clean bathrooms and replenish guest supplies.
• Pick up rubbish and empty garbage containers.
• Restock room amenities and cleaning supplies.
• Report damaged items and maintenance issues to management.

Requirements:

• AQF Certificate I; or Completed compulsory secondary education and at least one year of full-time relevant work experience.
• Good attention to detail and cleaning skills.
• Ability to use cleaning equipment and products safely.
• Good time-management and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Security Officer

Responsible for protecting the hotel, motel, supermarket, guests, staff and property by maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Key Duties:

• Patrol and monitor the hotel, motel, supermarket and surrounding premises.
• Monitor for suspicious or unauthorised activities.
• Identify and report security risks, property damage and safety hazards.
• Respond to security incidents and emergencies.
• Maintain security and incident records.
• Monitor entrances, restricted areas and security systems where required.
• Assist management and emergency services when necessary.
• Ensure security and safety procedures are followed.

Requirements:

• Label and store goods appropriately.
• Record stock locations and quantities using computer systems.
• Pack, weigh and move goods safely.
• Assist with regular stocktakes.
• Maintain clean, safe and organised storage areas.

Requirements:

Responsible for providing professional front-desk services to guests and managing reservations and day-to-day reception operations at Borroloola Hotel Motel.

Key Duties:

• Greet and welcome guests and visitors.
• Check guests in and out and provide information about accommodation and facilities.
• Answer telephone calls and respond to guest enquiries.
• Arrange and record accommodation reservations.
• Receive and resolve customer complaints.
• Process payments and operate POS and booking systems.
• Maintain accurate guest records and the reception area.
• Coordinate with housekeeping staff regarding room availability and guest requests.
• Perform basic clerical and administrative duties as required.
