Senior Operations Manager
- Support the day-to-day operations of the business as 2IC to the Managing Director.
- Lead and mentor a small team while managing key customer relationships.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to business growth.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the business while providing leadership and guidance across the team.

As the business continues to grow, you’ll be reporting directly to the Managing Director, and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the business while providing leadership and guidance across the team.
The Role
- Act as 2IC to the Managing Director, providing support across the business and stepping in during their absence
- Lead, mentor and support a small team of staff
- Oversee day-to-day operational and customer service activities
- Manage and develop key customer relationships and accounts
- Attend client and prospective client meetings alongside the MD, providing your freight forwarding expertise and operational insight
- Understand customer requirements and help assess how the business can best support new opportunities
- Contribute to internal discussions, business planning and brainstorming around the ongoing growth of the business
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, service levels and overall business performance
- Provide guidance and support to the wider team using your strong freight forwarding knowledge and experience
About You
- Strong experience within freight forwarding, with a solid understanding of the industry and its operations
- Previous experience across customer service, operations and/or key account management
- Experience managing or mentoring operational teams
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The confidence to attend client meetings and contribute to conversations around operational requirements and solutions
- A commercially minded approach, with an understanding of customers and the broader business
- The ability to think strategically while still being comfortable getting involved in the day-to-day
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work closely with senior leadership
- The maturity and confidence to step up and take ownership when required
