Our people are united by a common belief: that we can outperform in everything we do.

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources & Industrial Relations Manager to join our Victoria team, working on one of Melbourne's largest infrastructure projects. Delivered under an Alliance model, this role will partner closely with project leaders to provide operational, generalist HR and IR support across a large and complex construction workforce. Reporting to the Alliance People & Capability Manager, you will lead a team of HR/IR Advisors and Coordinators and play a key role in driving positive people outcomes across the project.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with leaders to provide practical HR and IR advice across the employee lifecycle.
  • Lead and support a small team of HR/IR Advisors and Coordinators.
  • Manage employee relations matters, workplace investigations, performance management and disciplinary processes.
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and mobilisation activities.
  • Drive employee engagement, talent development and succession planning initiatives.
  • Provide advice on Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs), Awards, employment legislation and company policies.
  • Support industrial relations matters, including union engagement and workforce issue resolution.
  • Contribute to culture, diversity, inclusion and organisational change initiatives.
  • Ensure compliant, consistent and effective people management practices across the project.

About you:

  • Significant experience in a Human Resources, People & Culture or Industrial Relations role within construction, infrastructure or a similar project-based environment.
  • Strong employee and industrial relations capability, including experience working with EBAs, Awards and employment legislation.
  • Experience supporting large operational or construction workforces.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong coaching, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A hands-on, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Business or a related discipline.

A note on diversity:

We're committed to building a workplace where people of all genders, cultures, identities, abilities and life experiences feel they belong. We welcome applications from people of all genders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally diverse communities, LGBTQIA+ communities, people with disability, and veterans.

You don't need to meet every requirement to be considered so if this role sparks your interest and you want to help build a better future, we'd like to hear from you.  We're committed to a barrier‑free recruitment experience. If you need any adjustments, simply let our Talent Acquisition team know.
