Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $78,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

Location: Morphett Vale SA 5162

Our client is seeking an experienced Chef to join their restaurant located in Morphett Vale, South Australia.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

·Prepare, cook and present meals in accordance with menu, recipes and presentation standards.

·Prepare a range of dishes including pasta, pizza, meat, chicken, seafood, salads, sauces, sides and other menu items.

·Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before preparation and service.

·Prepare ingredients by portioning, cutting, marinating, seasoning and completing other required food preparation.

·Operate grills, ovens, fryers, stovetops and other commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

·Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure meals are properly prepared and meet food safety requirements.

·Maintain consistent portion sizes, taste, presentation and quality across all dishes.

·Assist with planning daily food preparation and organising kitchen workflow before and during service.

·Monitor stock levels and advise the Head Chef or Restaurant Manager when ingredients and supplies need to be ordered.

·Receive and inspect food deliveries to ensure products are fresh, correctly supplied and appropriately stored.

·Rotate stock using appropriate food storage and stock-control procedures to minimise spoilage and wastage.

·Maintain appropriate storage temperatures for refrigerated, frozen and prepared foods.

·Ensure the kitchen, food preparation areas, equipment and utensils are kept clean and hygienic.

·Follow food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety requirements at all times.

·Assist in managing food costs by controlling portions, reducing wastage and using ingredients efficiently.

·Coordinate with other chefs, cooks and kitchen hands during service to ensure orders are prepared accurately and on time.

·Assist with training and supervising junior kitchen staff where required.

·Cater for customer dietary requirements, allergies and special requests in accordance with restaurant procedures.

·Identify and report equipment faults, food safety concerns or other kitchen issues to management.

·Maintain a professional and organised kitchen environment, particularly during busy service periods.

Requirements:

·Certificate IV in Kitchen Management

·A minimum of four (4) years relevant experience as a Chef.
