AECS - Australian Environmental Cleaning Services is currently seeking a driven and skilled Business Development Manager to join their team in Melbourne.
What you'll do (in simple terms):
- Find and win new customers for our commercial cleaning services
- Handle the full sales process: find leads, call people (cold & warm calls), visit sites, pitch our services, and close deals
- Build good, long-term relationships with property managers, facility managers, and business owners
- Visit client sites to check their cleaning requirements (walkthroughs) and create custom proposals
- Prepare prices, service plans, tenders, and contracts
- Negotiate terms and sign big cleaning contracts (aiming for $1 million+ deals)
- Keep our sales pipeline strong and update our CRM system
- Work with our operations team to make sure new contracts start smoothly
- Stay up-to-date on market trends and look for new ways to grow the business
- Attend industry events to promote AECS
What we're looking for:
- You must have real experience in the commercial cleaning industry (very important - you understand on-site cleaning: equipment, chemicals, consumables, different floors, safety rules, etc.)
- 5+ years in sales/business development (best if in cleaning, facilities, or similar services)
- Proven success winning big contracts ($2mil plus )
- Good networks with facility managers, property people, or corporate clients in Victoria.
- Strong at cold/warm calling, lead generation, site visits, pricing, tenders, and closing B2B deals
- Great communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Can work independently but also as part of a team
- Very organised, good with details, and can handle multiple tasks/deadlines
- Happy to travel for client meetings and site checks
- Experience in operations is a bonus
