Our industry partner, POI GREGORY HILLS PTY LTD, trading as Product of Italy, is seeking a skilled and qualified Chefs to join their vibrant kitchen team.

Product of Italy was lovingly founded in 2015 by Luke and Christene Deeb to share their passion for authentic Italian food with Australian families. Luke’s culinary journey began over 18 years ago, working as a Pizzaiolo in Italian restaurants both in Australia and overseas, while Christene brings her rich Italian family heritage to the business.

Product of Italy brings a genuine slice of Italy to the local community, with locations across Penrith, Gregory Hills, Minchinbury, Box Hill, Kellyville, and the newest site in Springwood. The restaurants serve a wide variety of traditional and inventive pizzas and pastas, quickly becoming local favourites.

Salary: $78,000- $83,000

Key Responsibilities / Duties

  1. Prepare, cook, and present a variety of authentic Italian dishes, including pizzas, pastas, and daily specials, in line with Product of Italy’s premium standards.
  2. Maintain consistency, flavour accuracy, and high-quality presentation across all dishes produced.
  3. Lead and supervise junior kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchen hands, ensuring smooth workflow and efficiency during service periods.
  4. Assist the Senior Chef with menu planning, including new dishes, daily specials, and catering or function orders.
  5. Oversee ingredient preparation, mise en place, and station setup to ensure readiness for service.
  6. Monitor inventory, manage stock rotation, and ensure the use of fresh, high-quality produce.
  7. Maintain strict adherence to kitchen hygiene, food safety regulations, and occupational health and safety standards.
  8. Mentor, train, and support junior kitchen staff to uphold culinary standards and operational procedures.
  9. Lead specific culinary stations independently during peak periods, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  10. Contribute to continuous improvement of kitchen operations, workflow, and menu offerings.

Skills & Experience Required

  1. Relevant qualification is required
  2. Minimum of 1-2 years’ relevant experience in a commercial kitchen environment
  3. Strong knowledge of food safety standards, kitchen operations, and quality control
  4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment while maintaining quality standards
  5. Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
