About The Role
We have an exciting full-time Ward Clerk position available within our Day Surgery Centre.

  • This position provides administrative support to the healthcare team in a busy nursing admissions area. As a key point of contact for patients, staff, and other stakeholders across the hospital, the role requires strong communication and customer service skills, attention to detail, and accurate management of patient records.
  • The Day Surgery Ward Clerk helps to ensure a smooth and efficient admission process for patients. Working in a fast-paced environment, this role requires the ability to manage competing priorities, use initiative, and work both independently and as part of a team. Good organisational and time management skills are essential, along with a commitment to providing a positive experience for patients and their families.
  • As part of the Patient Services team, the Day Surgery Ward Clerk will be required in other areas of the hospital as needed. This includes patient admission and discharge, theatre bookings, reception and switchboard duties.

About You

  • Completion of a medical terminology course (desirable)

  • Previous experience working in a hospital or medical environment (desirable)

  • Outstanding customer Service

  • Experience working with word, excel and outlook

  • Demonstrated professional manner and role model behaviors in alignment with our values

  • Ability to work in a busy, fast paced environment, in a safe manner and report any hazards or incidents.

  • Willingness to handle sensitive situations with compassion and patience

  • A strong willingness to work as part of a team
