Minimum requirements:
- Be qualified in hospitality with AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) with at least 1 Years full-time experience as a Chef
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food, blending Indian-style tikka flavours with Mexican taco-style formats to deliver the business's signature fusion menu
- Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and order food supplies
- Prepare, season, and cook food to a consistent standard, including marinating and grilling tikka-style proteins and preparing fresh taco fillings, salsas, and accompaniments
- Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Discuss food preparation and menu matters with management and kitchen/front-of-house staff
- Demonstrate techniques and advise kitchen staff on cooking procedures
- Explain, implement, and enforce hygiene and food safety regulations in the kitchen
- Select and train kitchen staff as required, and help coordinate day-to-day kitchen operations
- Manage stock levels, minimise wastage, and assist with rostering and budgeting as needed

- Strong leadership and ability to manage a small kitchen team
- Creativity and passion for fusion cuisine, blending Indian and Mexican flavours
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
- Good communication and coordination with front-of-house staff
