Kimba Motel Roadhouse & Caravan Park is a busy hospitality business located in Kimba, South Australia, approximately 465 km from Adelaide. Operating seven days a week, we serve freshly prepared meals to travellers, motel guests, caravan park visitors and the local community. We also offer 14 motel rooms and caravan and camping facilities.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cook to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis and contribute to the preparation and delivery of quality meals while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, season and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and menu requirements.
- Monitor food quality, presentation and portion sizes to maintain consistent standards.
- Manage food preparation, cooking times and kitchen operations to ensure efficient service.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and food safety standards in accordance with Australian regulations.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering ingredients and minimise food wastage.
- Ensure proper storage, handling and rotation of food supplies.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and management to maintain smooth daily operations.
- Assist with menu planning and preparation of meals to meet customer requirements.
Skills and Experience
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or relevant qualification.
- Relevant commercial cooking experience in a restaurant, motel, roadhouse or similar hospitality establishment.
- Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
- Strong organisational, communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and public holidays as required.
