This is an outstanding opportunity to join one of Sydney's largest infrastructure organisations. Working alongside an experienced and highly regarded safety team, you'll gain exposure to a diverse operational environment where no two days are the same.
Initially offered as a 3-month contract, this role has strong potential to become permanent and would suit someone looking to accelerate their development within a complex, high-risk environment.
About the Role
Reporting into the Safety Manager, you'll partner closely with operational teams across a large field-based workforce.
You'll be responsible for:
- Providing practical WHS advice, coaching and support to operational teams and contractors
- Conducting workplace inspections, safety audits and assurance activities
- Identifying hazards and partnering with leaders to implement effective risk controls
- Supporting plant, equipment and heavy vehicle safety inspections
- Monitoring contractor safety performance and compliance
- Investigating incidents, injuries and near misses and assisting with corrective actions
- Delivering toolbox talks, inductions and safety awareness initiatives
- Supporting risk assessments and continuous improvement activities
- Maintaining safety reporting, dashboards and performance data
About You
You'll likely bring experience from construction, infrastructure, transport or other operational environments.
We're particularly interested in candidates with:
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (essential)
- Current driver's licence
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management principles
- The confidence to engage directly with frontline workers, supervisors and contractors
- A proactive attitude and genuine desire to continue developing within the safety profession
- Comfortable working varied roster with some night shifts required
