Restaurant Manager

The Caledonian Inn (Stump) Port Fairy is a historic hospitality venue offering a vibrant pub and bistro experience, accommodation, functions and a range of events throughout the year.
We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will oversee restaurant operations, including menu planning, staff supervision, purchasing, customer service, functions and financial administration, while ensuring high standards of service and compliance with relevant requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, bistro and food and beverage services.
· Work with the chefs to plan menus and ensure food and service offerings meet customer and business requirements.
· Plan and coordinate functions, private events and special dining activities.
· Manage purchasing of food, beverages and other supplies, ensuring pricing and expenditure remain within budget.
· Monitor stock levels, sales, expenses and financial records and maintain accurate operational records.
· Ensure dining and service areas are clean, well presented, functional and compliant with relevant health and safety requirements.
· Liaise with customers regarding bookings, dining requirements and feedback to ensure a high standard of service and customer satisfaction.
· Recruit, train, supervise and coordinate front-of-house and kitchen support staff, including rostering and allocation of duties.
· Assist with reservations, greeting guests and coordinating customer orders and service during busy periods.
· Liaise with suppliers, kitchen staff and venue management to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant.
Skills & Experience
· Relevant qualifications in Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management, Business or a related field.
· Demonstrated experience in restaurant, cafe, pub, bistro or hospitality management.
· Experience supervising staff and managing hospitality operations.
· Strong communication, organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills.
· Experience with rostering, stock control, purchasing and cost management.
