Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing

Shape enterprise wide safety strategy

Lead an experienced and established team Broad remit across safety, wellbeing and injury management

We're partnering with a large, values led organisation that plays an important role in the lives of millions of Australians.

With a diverse workforce, complex operations and a strong commitment to continuous improvement, the organisation has established a solid foundation and is now focused on the next stage of its safety journey.

As Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing, you'll have the opportunity to lead the enterprise safety function across a broad and multifaceted business, partnering closely with executive leaders and the Board to provide strategic guidance on safety, psychosocial risk, workers' compensation and injury management.

This is a highly visible leadership role where your ability to influence, build trust and navigate complexity will be just as important as your technical expertise. You'll work with an experienced leadership team and an established safety function, helping to set priorities, provide assurance and ensure safety initiatives are practical, sustainable and aligned to organisational objectives.

We're looking for an experienced safety leader who combines strong commercial judgement with a genuine, people-first approach. You will have a track record of operating in large, complex environments and be comfortable engaging with senior executives, challenging respectfully and translating complexity into clear action.

Most importantly, you'll bring curiosity, humility and the ability to bring people with you. This is an opportunity to join an organisation that genuinely values safety, invests in its people and offers the chance to make a meaningful contribution at scale.

You will bring:

  • Senior leadership experience across health, safety and wellbeing
  • Experience operating in a large, complex organisational environment
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with executive leadership and governance forums
  • Commercial pragmatism, sound judgement and the ability to simplify complexity
  • A collaborative, authentic and values-led leadership style

Why consider this opportunity?

  • Enterprise wide remit with significant executive exposure
  • Diverse operational environment with genuine complexity
  • Opportunity to influence strategy and organisational outcomes
  • Established team and strong foundations to build upon
  • Competitive executive package

If you are confident that your experience reflects the above criteria, please apply online quoting ref No 4076760. Should you have any questions please contact Clare Johnston at clare@tandempartners.com.au
