Position Available:
Pearl on the Point is hiring FULL-TIME trade waiters to join our team. As part of our authentic Teochew fine-dining experience, duties include: greeting and seating guests, taking food and drink orders, serving meals and beverages, answering menu questions regarding our traditional dim sum, handling minor guest issues, clearing and resetting tables, and assisting with opening/closing cleaning duties. Must be friendly, well-groomed, and a team player dedicated to providing genuine service.
Responsibilities:
- Setting and arranging tables with proper cutlery, crockery, chopsticks, and Chinese tea sets, ensuring the table setting aligns with our fine-dining standards and the elegant riverside ambience.
- Taking reservations, greeting guests warmly upon arrival, and presenting menus, dim sum order sheets, and beverage lists, including our extensive tea and wine selection.
- Recommending signature dishes such as authentic Teochew steamed seafood and delicate dim sum, and suggesting teas or wines that complement the natural flavors of our cuisine, particularly in our fine-dining setting.
- Taking accurate food and beverage orders and relaying them clearly to the kitchen and bar staff, ensuring special requests regarding Teochew cooking techniques (steaming, stewing, blanching, stir-frying, braising, and simmering) are communicated.
- Serving food and beverages promptly and professionally, and assisting with banquet setup, tea service, and riverside dining operations as required.
- Clearing tables promptly and returning dishes, cutlery, chopsticks, and glassware to the kitchen for cleaning.
- Removing empty bottles, used glasses, and teapots, and refilling or replacing glasses and tea cups throughout the meal, maintaining the tranquil riverside dining experience.
- Processing payments, operating point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash registers, and handling transactions accurately.
- Assisting with banquet and function services during private events, large group bookings, and special celebrations that celebrate the social experience of dim sum.
Requirements:
At least two years of relevant experience.
