KEY POINTS WE FOUND
  • Join a leading national law firm in Brisbane.
  • Advise major corporate and government clients on complex workplace matters.
  • Manage your work with a strong level of autonomy and supervise junior lawyers.

Join a leading national law firm and become part of a highly regarded Brisbane Employment, Industrial Relations & Safety practice, advising major corporate and government clients on complex and high-impact workplace matters.

You’ll work alongside experienced Partners and senior practitioners across a broad mix of advisory and contentious work, spanning employment, industrial relations, litigation and workplace safety. The practice acts on matters that are often significant, sensitive and business-critical for clients.

With exposure to a number of Partners and different areas of work, you’ll have the opportunity to broaden your experience rather than being confined to a single stream. You’ll take on increasing responsibility, work directly with clients and develop areas of specialisation that align with your interests and career goals.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Employment and industrial relations disputes and litigation;
  • Strategic employment and workplace relations advice;
  • Enterprise bargaining and industrial disputes;
  • Advocacy in courts and tribunals;
  • Discrimination and workplace claims;
  • Workplace investigations;
  • Large-scale underpayment and employment compliance reviews;
  • Regulatory investigations and matters;
  • Work health and safety compliance and risk management;
  • Safety incident response, investigations and prosecutions;
  • Restructuring and workforce matters; and
  • Employment aspects of major corporate transactions.

At Associate or Senior Associate level, you’ll play a leading role across matters, engage directly with clients and manage your work with a strong level of autonomy.

You’ll also have opportunities to supervise and mentor junior lawyers, contribute to business development and support broader client initiatives.

About You
We’re interested in speaking with lawyers who have:

  • Experience in employment, industrial relations and/or workplace safety;
  • Ideally, experience gained within a large, national or international law firm;
  • A combination of private practice and in-house experience will also be considered;
  • The ability to manage matters with a strong level of autonomy;
  • Excellent drafting, communication and client relationship skills;
  • The ability to supervise and support junior lawyers; and
  • An interest in business development and contributing to the growth of the practice.

You don’t need experience across every aspect of employment, industrial relations and safety. Lawyers with a strong background in one or more areas who are looking to broaden their practice are encouraged to apply.
