Our venue partner, MELROSE CHICKEN CO PTY LTD trading as Chickanji Melrose Park is a New South Wales-based hospitality business specialising in charcoal chicken, Middle Eastern-inspired cuisine, burgers, wraps, skewers, desserts, and casual dining meals. The business operates multiple locations across Sydney, including Wetherill Park, Mount Druitt, Warwick Farm and Roselands, offering dine-in, takeaway, and catering services to a broad customer base.
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Cooks to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. This role is critical to the smooth running of day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring consistent product and service quality, supervising and supporting staff, and delivering a customer experience that reflects MELROSE CHICKEN CO PTY LTD and standards.
Salary Range: $78,000 - $83,000 AUD
Location: Shop UG05, 9 Hildegarde Boulevard, Melrose Park NSW 2114
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment to produce high-quality meals.
- Portion and prepare ingredients, including meats, seafood, vegetables, sauces, and accompaniments.
- Ensure all dishes meet required taste, texture, and presentation standards before service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
- Store food properly, rotate stock, and monitor freshness to minimise wastage.
- Assist with menu preparations, including mise en place and daily food production.
- Follow kitchen procedures and support smooth service during busy periods.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals.
- Adhere to workplace health and safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum 1–3 years experience in a commercial kitchen.
- Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
- Ability to prepare a variety of dishes with precision and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skill
