We are looking for a full-time Cook to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering a range of high-quality dishes and baked goods, ensuring consistency and presentation across every service. Working closely with the Chef, you will contribute to menu development, help streamline kitchen operations and prepare seasonal dishes that showcase the vibrant flavours and tastes of Brazilian cuisine.
This position is a full-time ongoing position based in Manly, NSW.
Main Tasks:
·Prepare, season, and cook a wide range of dishes across different sections of the kitchen, following standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
·Assist in creating and updating menu items based on seasonal availability, customer demand, and cost efficiency, under the direction of management.
·Assemble and measure ingredients accurately, ensuring readiness for service and efficient workflow throughout the kitchen.
·Maintain consistent quality, portion control, and attractive presentation of all dishes served.
·Monitor food preparation areas and kitchen equipment to ensure strict compliance with hygiene, food safety, and health regulations.
·Receive, store, and manage ingredients and supplies, checking deliveries for quality and freshness while minimizing spoilage and waste.
·Work effectively with kitchen team members by following directions, assisting during busy service periods, and contributing to a positive and efficient kitchen environment.
·Communicate with front-of-house staff and management to coordinate orders, manage dietary requests, and contribute to seamless service.
Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:
·Relevant Certificate III/IV and minimum 1 year’ full time work experience within the past 5 years.
·3 years’ work experience in the industry may substitute the formal qualification.
Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:
· Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
· Ability to prepare a range of dishes and baked goods to a consistently high standard.
· Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe kitchen practices.
· Ability to follow recipes, portion controls and presentation standards accurately.
· An understanding and appreciation of Brazilian flavours and cuisine is highly desirable.
· Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the kitchen team.
· Good time-management and organisational skills.
Annual salary will be between $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
