People & Development Adviser

We are currently looking for a People & Development Adviser to join our national People & Development team, based in our Adelaide office.

The role

We are currently looking for a People & Development Adviser to join our national People & Development team, based in our Adelaide office.

Working closely with both Adelaide-based and interstate colleagues, this position reports to the Chief People Officer (based in Brisbane) and is supported by the broader national team, including P&D Administrators and a Recruitment Coordinator. The position is a key People & Development contact for our Adelaide office of approximately 153 people.

Responsibilities will include working with the Chief People Officer to:

• Provide practical and commercially focused generalist HR advice and support to Partners, leaders and staff across a range of people matters;
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and act as a trusted point of contact for People & Development matters within the Adelaide office;
• Support employee relations and performance matters, including probation, performance management and other day-to-day employee matters;
• Partner with the Recruitment Coordinator on end-to-end recruitment and selection processes, including interviewing, candidate management and strategic sourcing;
• Work with leaders on resourcing requirements and prepare business cases to support recruitment decisions;
• Coordinate and deliver the annual Summer Clerkship and Graduate recruitment campaigns and Summer Clerkship program;
• Support broader people initiatives and projects across the Adelaide office and national firm; and
• Work collaboratively with the national P&D team to deliver a consistent and high-quality people experience.

This position offers varied and challenging work, with the support of a hardworking and close-knit national People & Development team.

About you

This role could suit an HR Coordinator ready to take the next step into an Adviser role, a recruitment professional looking to broaden their experience into internal HR, or an experienced HR Adviser looking for their next opportunity.

You will have previous experience in recruitment, HR or a related people-focused role, together with demonstrated experience managing stakeholders and building effective working relationships. You will be confident communicating with people at different levels and comfortable taking ownership of your work while working as part of a national team.

Experience within professional services or legal is not necessary. We welcome applications from candidates with diverse industry backgrounds who have relevant HR or recruitment experience and are looking to develop their career in a broad generalist role.
