  • Play a key frontline leadership role, supporting our Admissions team to create a welcoming, seamless and positive experience for visitors and members from arrival through to departure.

The Admissions Supervisor plays a key role in the day-to-day delivery of Admissions at Werribee Open Range Zoo. Working closely with the Admissions Team Leader, this hands-on role provides on-the-ground leadership, coaching and support to staff across Car Park, Front Entry and Ticket Sales, ensuring visitors and members receive a welcoming, accessible and high-quality experience from the moment they arrive.

With a strong customer-first focus, the Admissions Supervisor coordinates daily staff allocation, responds to changing visitor and operational needs, and supports a positive and collaborative team culture. Working alongside the team and across the wider zoo, the role helps deliver safe and efficient operations, consistent service standards, strong visitor flow and positive membership and commercial outcomes.

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience supervising and supporting frontline staff in a fast-paced, high-volume customer service or visitor-focused environment.
  • Strong people skills, with the ability to coach, provide feedback and support staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Experience supporting day-to-day operations, including staff deployment and responding confidently to changing visitor demand and operational priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, visitors, members and teams across the organisation.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and respond effectively to day-to-day visitor, staffing and operational matters.
  • A collaborative and approachable leadership style, with a commitment to creating a positive, inclusive and supportive team culture.
  • A passion for creating meaningful visitor experiences that connect people with wildlife and support Zoos Victoria's conservation purpose.

Recognised professional experience and/or qualifications in visitor services, tourism or customer service are required.

The successful candidate will also require a current National Police Check, Employee Status Working with Children Check and current driver's licence. The role requires flexibility to work across weekends, public holidays and peak periods, including school holidays.
