We are seeking a talented and dedicated Kitchen Manager / Chef to join our culinary team in the heart of
Melbourne. As our Kitchen Manager , you will play a pivotal role in our kitchen, supporting the executive
Chef in maintaining high standards and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation and culinary
activities.
Oversee kitchen staff, ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and work
standards.
Create and test new seasonal menu items, ensuring they meet our quality standards
and align with seasonal ingredients.
Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work
environment.
Assist with inventory management, including ordering and maintaining kitchen
supplies and ingredients.
Manage food costs and control waste, ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently and
within budget.
Ensure dishes are prepared and presented in line with our restaurant’s standards of
excellence.
Enforce food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Monitor kitchen equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance
needs.
What We are Looking For:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role within a fast-paced kitchen
environment.
Formal qualifications (at least certificate 4 in commercial cookery) .
Strong culinary skills with a passion for fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Leadership and team management experience.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Creativity and attention to detail in the kitchen.
