Senior Business Development Manager – New Business & Market Development
Based anywhere in NSW | Home-based with regular territory travel
$150,000 base + super + 40% STI + car allowance
Spot the opportunity. Open the conversation. Build the business.
You enjoy finding opportunities others have missed. You ask thoughtful questions, understand what matters to the customer and turn an initial conversation into a commercial opportunity.
Think Talent is partnering with an established international manufacturer to appoint a Senior Business Development Manager responsible for developing new business across NSW.
The business provides technical solutions used across construction, infrastructure, agriculture and commercial environments. Its next phase of growth centres on getting closer to end users, understanding their challenges and influencing how solutions are selected.
This is an opportunity to own your territory, shape your approach and build a pipeline through your own market insight and initiative.
The opportunity
Your focus will be creating and winning new business. With established account management and technical support resources alongside you, you can concentrate on opening doors, developing opportunities and progressing decisions.
You’ll engage customers and the people who influence their purchasing choices, often well before a project reaches procurement. Success will come from understanding the application, making a compelling case for value and bringing the right stakeholders together.
You can be based anywhere in NSW, with a home base and regular travel to meet customers, prospects and industry partners.
What you’ll do
-
Identify priority markets, target organisations and emerging opportunities across NSW.
-
Initiate conversations with end users, specifiers and other decision-makers.
-
Uncover customer challenges and connect them with practical, commercially relevant solutions.
-
Influence specifications and purchasing decisions through clear value propositions.
-
Navigate sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, maintaining momentum from discovery through to conversion.
-
Build and manage a qualified pipeline with consistent prospecting, planning and follow-through.
-
Work with technical specialists and delivery partners, transitioning secured business to the account management team.
What you’ll bring
You’ve personally created new business: identified the prospect, opened the door, developed the opportunity and helped secure the outcome.
Your experience could come from construction, building products, infrastructure, industrial solutions, agriculture, technical manufacturing or another environment where understanding the customer is central to the sale.
More than a particular industry background, we’re interested in how you work:
-
Curiosity: you ask questions that uncover the real need and learn unfamiliar markets quickly.
-
Initiative: you act on opportunities and create momentum without waiting for direction.
-
Commercial judgement: you prioritise where to spend your time and explain value beyond price.
-
Influence: you build credibility with different stakeholders and help them reach decisions.
-
Discipline: you maintain a clear territory plan, accurate pipeline and reliable follow-through.
-
Resilience: you stay constructive when opportunities take time or an approach needs to change.
You’re comfortable working independently, spending substantial time in the market and taking ownership of your outcomes.
Why consider it?
-
Ownership of a NSW territory with room to develop new markets and applications.
-
An established international business with technical expertise and delivery capability.
-
A dedicated new business remit, supported by separate account management resources.
-
Flexibility to live anywhere in NSW while staying close to your market.
-
$150,000 base salary, super, 40% STI and a car allowance.
