Our client is a well-established Queensland organisation delivering a diverse range of essential services across aged care, disability, health and community services. With a strong focus on quality, governance and continuous improvement, this is an opportunity to build your career within an organisation where your work has genuine purpose and impact.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical accountant or finance professional ready to broaden their experience and make a meaningful contribution within a large and complex organisation.
Working closely with the Lead Financial Accountant, you will support the delivery of accurate, transparent and insightful financial information across the business. Your role will span financial reporting, cashflow analysis, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling, while also helping improve systems, processes and reporting capability.
More than simply producing numbers, you will help explain what they mean, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and provide stakeholders with the information they need to make informed decisions.
The Role Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting monthly financial reporting, including reconciliations, workpapers, commentary and variance analysis
- Preparing weekly, monthly and rolling cashflow reports
- Monitoring cash movements, funding receipts, supplier payments and forecast assumptions
- Preparing journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Developing financial models for scenario analysis, cost modelling and multiyear planning
- Supporting annual budgets, forecast updates and year-end financial statements
- Developing dashboards and automated reports that improve visibility and decision-making
- Preparing audit-ready schedules, evidence and supporting documentation
- Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data within the ERP system
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders and contributing to continuous improvement across finance systems and processes
About You You are analytical, commercially aware and naturally curious about the story behind the numbers. You enjoy working with detailed financial information but can also step back, identify trends and communicate your findings clearly.
You will bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline
- Experience in financial analysis, accounting support or management reporting
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to interpret complex financial and operational data
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with ERP systems
- Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and reconciliation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly to a range of stakeholders
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
CPA or CA accreditation, or progress towards accreditation, will be highly regarded. Experience using TechnologyOne or a similar accounting system would also be advantageous.
Why Apply?
This role offers genuine variety and the opportunity to build your capability across both financial accounting and commercial analysis. You will gain exposure to complex financial operations, contribute to meaningful reporting and improvement initiatives, and work alongside experienced finance professionals within an organisation delivering an important community impact.
If you are looking for a role where you can strengthen your technical skills, develop your analytical capability and see how your work supports broader organisational outcomes, we would love to hear from you.
