Be part of something bigger. Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an organised and collaborative Talent Acquisition Team Leader to coordinate recruitment, onboarding, workforce allocation and Primary Healthcare roster support across East Arnhem Land.

About Miwatj Health

Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation is an independent Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service providing culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care across East Arnhem Land. Working with Yolngu communities, Miwatj supports self-determination, stronger futures and improved health and wellbeing outcomes through primary health care, public health, outreach and community-based services.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Chief People and Culture Officer, this role provides a specialised talent acquisition, engagement, onboarding and workforce allocation service. You will supervise and coordinate the Talent Acquisition and Engagement team, support managers with recruitment needs, oversee candidate and onboarding processes, and provide operational oversight of the Primary Healthcare roster and casual locum allocations.

This is a practical, hands-on leadership role suited to someone who can balance competing priorities, analyse options, make sound recommendations and help ensure safe, timely and cost-aware workforce coverage for Miwatj services.

What you will do

  • Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance and coordination to the Talent Acquisition and Engagement team.
  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment, job readiness, pre-employment checks, employment documentation and corporate onboarding activities.
  • Work with managers to clarify recruitment needs, assess options and recommend practical recruitment approaches.
  • Provide operational oversight of the Primary Healthcare roster and coordinate casual locum allocations.
  • Monitor coverage requirements, workforce data, agency use and recruitment activity to identify trends, risks and service gaps.
  • Prepare reports, recommendations and non-standard correspondence to support compliant and consistent workforce outcomes.
  • Review recruitment, onboarding and allocation processes and support agreed improvements to quality, timeliness and value for money.

What you will bring

  • Experience coordinating end-to-end recruitment activities in an operational environment.
  • Experience supervising, motivating or coordinating administrative, recruitment or operational team members.
  • Experience supporting roster coordination, casual locum allocation or workforce coverage processes, preferably in health, community services or a similar setting.
  • Well-developed communication and relationship-building skills with leaders, employees, candidates, agencies and external providers.
  • Sound judgement and problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess options and recommend practical approaches where issues are not clearly defined.
  • Working knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, candidate management systems, roster coordination and employment administration procedures.
  • A diploma or advanced diploma in human resources, recruitment, business administration or a related discipline, or appropriate in-house training and equivalent experience.

What is in it for you?

  • Competitive AO6 remuneration of $114,554 to $128,062 per annum.
  • Full-time role based in Darwin or Nhulunbuy.
  • Opportunity to contribute to Aboriginal Community Controlled health services across East Arnhem Land.
  • Work with a values-led organisation focused on Community Control, Cultural Awareness, Raypirri, Yolngu focus, quality and working together.
  • Role with practical impact across recruitment, onboarding, workforce coverage and Primary Healthcare service continuity.

Mandatory requirements

  • Compliance with Miwatj Health’s Staff Vaccination and Immunity Screening Policy.
  • Current Ochre Card or ability to obtain one.
  • National Police Clearance or ability to obtain one. A criminal history will not automatically exclude an applicant.
