P&C Business Partner

  • $124,535 per annum + 12% superannuation
  • Full time /  fixed term opportunity until 30 April 2027
  • Wadawurrung/Geelong based role (hybrid work from home – 3 days a week in office)

About the opportunity

The P&C Business Partner works in partnership with a business area to develop business solutions and provide a high level of service consistent with WorkSafe’s policy, strategy and business unit needs. The role provides input to projects and business planning and helps integrate WorkSafe Victoria policies and initiatives into the business. The P&C Business Partner is accountable for partnering with the business, in collaboration with the People & Culture team, to contribute to the wider business agenda and present solutions to leadership that enable success through their people.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with business leaders to provide strategic People & Culture advice across the employee lifecycle, including talent, diversity, engagement, recruitment, remuneration, capability, performance and workforce planning.
  • Coach and support leaders in applying HR policies, procedures and practices, providing specialist advice and practical solutions to support effective people management and organisational objectives.
  • Lead and support organisational change, including change planning, communications, consultation, workforce and resourcing requirements, and the management of redeployment activities.
  • Manage employee relations matters with a focus on early intervention and local resolution, including workplace concerns, complaints, performance matters, mediation, risk and compliance issues.
  • Use workforce data and business insights to identify trends and emerging people issues, including turnover and absenteeism, and develop practical, long-term solutions in partnership with business leaders.
  • Collaborate across People & Culture to deliver projects, recruitment, learning and organisational development initiatives, while monitoring service effectiveness and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

About you

You are an experienced HR professional who can build strong stakeholder relationships, understand client needs and apply sound judgement to complex situations. You bring strong analytical and problem-solving capability, resilience and self-awareness, and can work collaboratively as well as autonomously with limited guidance.

Additionally, you will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Strong knowledge and experience across a range of HR disciplines, including performance management, personal development, remuneration, classification systems, coaching, counselling, team development, facilitation and talent management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IR/ER, OHS and return-to-work legislation, with strong knowledge of the systems and regulations governing the HR function.
  • Highly developed analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, with the ability to align activities and recommendations to organisational goals.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, resilience and self-awareness, with the ability to effectively manage complex interpersonal relationships.
  • Excellent customer focus, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to understand stakeholder needs and deliver appropriate business outcomes.
  • Strong time management, prioritisation and organisational skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.

 Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of contemporary developments and emerging practices within the HR field.
  • Experience in analysis and project management techniques.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
