Opportunity for Current WDHS Employees
Western District Health Service is seeking expressions of interest from current WDHS employees for the position of Health Information Clerk within the Health Information Services team.
This administrative role supports the management of both paper and electronic medical records, ensuring patient information is accurate, accessible and managed in accordance with privacy and legislative requirements. Working within a supportive team environment, you will contribute to the efficient operation of Health Information Services and help ensure clinicians have access to the information they need to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
What You'll Be Doing
Medical Record Management
Compile discharged patient records, maintain filing systems and ensure medical records are accurately tracked and managed within the electronic medical record system.
Scanning & Documentation
Audit scanned documentation and ensure information is accurately filed and uploaded into electronic medical records in a timely manner.
Patient Information Management
Maintain accurate patient demographic information and ensure correct patient identification through appropriate record management processes.
Customer Service & Administration
Respond to enquiries via telephone, email and face-to-face interactions while delivering professional and confidential customer service.
Privacy & Compliance
Ensure all activities comply with privacy legislation, confidentiality requirements and health information management standards.
What You Bring
- Minimum Year 11 education
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Well-developed communication and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
- Strong computer and data entry skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes
- Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
