We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the supermarket. This hands-on role will lead the store team and manage people, stock, suppliers and operational performance while supporting sales, profitability and customer-service objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the overall day-to-day operations of the supermarket.
- Lead, supervise, roster and develop store staff.
- Manage recruitment, training and employee performance.
- Oversee stock purchasing, ordering, inventory control and merchandising.
- Monitor sales, costs, labour, wastage and store profitability.
- Maintain high standards of customer service, store presentation and product availability.
- Manage supplier relationships and operational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, WHS and relevant legislation.
- Implement store policies, procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor store performance and implement strategies to achieve sales and profitability targets.
- Prepare operational reports and liaise with owners/senior management.
- Take overall responsibility for efficient and effective store operations.
Skills required
- Minimum 3 years experience in retail or supermarket management.
- Relevant qualification in Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong experience in team leadership, staff rostering and performance management.
- Experience in stock control, ordering, merchandising and retail operations.
- Good understanding of sales, budgets, costs and profitability.
- Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills.
