Summary
Our client, Hyderabad Fusion Restaurant, is seeking to add a skilled Chef to its team in Gosnells, Western Australia. Recognised as a premier destination for authentic Indian Mughlai and Hyderabadi cuisine, the restaurant celebrates traditional flavours through carefully prepared biryanis, kebabs, curries and desserts, while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, halal preparation and customer satisfaction.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Prepare and cook authentic Indian, Mughlai and Hyderabadi dishes according to established recipes and standards.
• Manage designated kitchen sections, including curries, biryanis, tandoori dishes, sauces and grilled items.
• Plan menus and contribute ideas reflecting traditional flavours, seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
• Monitor dish quality, portion consistency and presentation throughout all stages of preparation and service.
• Estimate food requirements and assist with ordering ingredients, supplies and kitchen equipment.
• Supervise junior kitchen staff and provide practical guidance on preparation and cooking techniques.
• Coordinate with management, kitchen and waiting staff to ensure efficient daily service operations.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock rotation to minimise spoilage and food waste.
• Ensure meals are prepared promptly while consistently meeting quality, flavour and presentation expectations.
• Enforce food safety, hygiene, sanitation and workplace health requirements throughout the kitchen.
• Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef with menu planning and operational kitchen decisions.
• Monitor food storage temperatures and ensure ingredients are labelled, preserved and handled correctly.
• Resolve kitchen preparation or service issues efficiently during busy and high-volume trading periods.
• Maintain clean, organised and properly sanitised workstations, utensils, equipment and food preparation areas.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
• Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or a comparable relevant commercial cookery qualification from a recognised institution.
• At least three years of relevant professional experience working as a Chef or Chef de Partie.
• Demonstrated experience preparing authentic Indian, Mughlai and Hyderabadi curries, biryanis, kebabs and tandoori dishes.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, HACCP requirements, allergen management and safe food-handling practices.
• Proven ability to manage a kitchen section and maintain consistent quality during high-volume service periods.
• Experience supervising junior kitchen staff and providing clear guidance on cooking procedures and presentation standards.
• Sound inventory management skills, including food ordering, stock rotation, portion control and waste reduction practices.
• Strong teamwork, communication, time-management and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment.
