About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Modeller to join a large-scale enterprise data team delivering trusted reporting, analytics and data-driven business solutions. This role will focus on designing logical data models and business-ready datasets that support decision-making across multiple business domains.
Working closely with business stakeholders, architects, analysts and data engineers, you will translate business requirements into scalable and reusable data solutions within a modern cloud-based data environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain logical data models and analytical datasets
- Translate complex business requirements into practical data solutions
- Analyse source systems and identify data relationships and business meaning
- Facilitate workshops to define business concepts, measures and reporting requirements
- Establish and maintain business definitions and authoritative data sources
- Create and maintain data dictionaries, metadata and business glossary artefacts
- Ensure alignment with data governance, security and information management standards
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to deliver implementation-ready datasets
- Support agile delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives
Skills & Experience Essential
- 5+ years’ experience in Data Modelling, Data Warehousing, Analytics Engineering or related disciplines
- Strong understanding of dimensional modelling and analytical data modelling techniques
- Experience designing datasets for reporting, analytics and business intelligence solutions
- Proven ability to analyse complex source systems and data structures
- Strong stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and communication skills
- Experience documenting data definitions, mappings and metadata assets
- Understanding of data governance, data quality and authoritative data source concepts
- Experience working within agile delivery environments
Highly Regarded
- Experience working with Databricks or similar cloud analytics platforms
- Knowledge of Lakehouse architecture and modern data ecosystems
- Experience with Enterprise Data Models or domain-driven modelling approaches
- Exposure to utilities, energy or infrastructure environments
