The Shire of Capel is located in the South West, halfway between Bunbury and Busselton. We are nestled between the beach and the forest and are one of the fastest growing coastal Shires in Australia. The Youth Development Program Officer supports the delivery of youth development programs, initiatives and activities across the Shire that promote participation, wellbeing and positive outcomes for young people. The role assists in creating safe, inclusive and engaging environments for young people through the facilitation of programs, events and activities, including supporting the operation and activation of the Dalyellup Library & Youth Hub. To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate:
•    Behaviour that positively demonstrates the Shire’s HEART of: Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork
•    Certificate IV in Youth Work, or an equivalent or higher qualification in youth work, community services, social work or a closely related field with substantial youth practice content. 
•    Experience working with young people in youth, recreation, community, education or related settings. 
•    Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with young people and stakeholders. 
•    Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. 
•    Knowledge of child safeguarding, duty of care and appropriate professional boundaries when working with young people. 
•    Ability to follow procedures and contribute to a safe working environment. 
•    Current Working with Children Check. 
•    Current WA C Class Driver's Licence.   

Experience facilitating youth programs, activities or events will be highly regarded.
