Yard Supervisor - Equipment Hire

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Workshop / Yard Supervisor to join a well-established equipment hire business servicing Melbourne and surrounding areas.

This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing the day-to-day running of the workshop and yard, ensuring a fleet of earthmoving and construction equipment is serviced, maintained, clean and ready for hire.

The Role

• Lead and supervise the workshop and yard team
• Allocate daily workloads and manage priorities
• Coordinate servicing, maintenance and repairs
• Ensure equipment is hire-ready and professionally presented
• Oversee pre-hire and return inspections
• Manage equipment movements, attachments and accessories
• Monitor downtime and prioritise urgent repairs
• Work closely with Hire, Transport and Operations teams
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop and yard

About You
We’re looking for someone with:

• Experience in earthmoving, plant or construction equipment
• Previous supervisory/team leadership experience
• Strong mechanical knowledge and practical problem-solving skills
• Experience coordinating equipment servicing and repairs
• Excellent organisation and communication skills
• A hands-on approach and strong work ethic
• A strong focus on safety

Essential:

• Current Australian Driver’s Licence
• Forklift Licence
• Relevant plant/equipment tickets highly regarded
