Welder Fabricator

Core Talent are looking for a qualified Welder Fabricator to join a growing team in Altona North, working on the fabrication and assembly of steel structures, modular equipment and custom-built components.

If you’re confident reading engineering drawings, producing quality welds and take pride in your workmanship, this is a great opportunity to get involved in varied, hands-on fabrication projects.

What you'll be doing

• Fabricating and welding steel frames, skids and sheet-metal components.
• Modifying shipping containers, including fitting doors and windows.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, plans and weld symbols.
• Cutting, shaping, bending, drilling and assembling metal components.
• Performing MIG, TIG and other welding processes as required.
• Grinding, finishing, painting and inspecting completed work.
• Maintaining workshop equipment and keeping the workspace safe and organised.

What you'll bring

• Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a fabrication or welding workshop.
• Strong welding and metal fabrication skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work independently.
• A strong focus on quality, safety and attention to detail.

Essential tickets and licences:

• White Card
• Forklift Licence
• Working at Heights certification
