We are looking for Truck Driver to join our team.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Manoeuvre trucks safely into loading and unloading areas, including tight or congested locations.
- Operate vehicles safely across metropolitan and regional areas in different traffic and weather conditions.
- Conduct pre-start checks to ensure the truck is roadworthy, including checking brakes, lights, tyres and other essential equipment.
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and cranes, while following safety procedures and checking loading documents and the condition of goods.
- Estimate and monitor load weights to ensure compliance with legal weight limits, distribute loads safely.
- Secure and cover goods to prevent movement, damage or spillage during transport.
- Obtain delivery confirmations and signed documentation from clients, and maintain accurate delivery logs and records.
- Report vehicle defects or mechanical issues to the Logistics Manager or Fleet Coordinator and ensure the truck is kept clean, maintained and presentable.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required
- A valid Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver's License or Heavy Combination (HC) Driver's License.
- Valid Fatigue Management certification (preferred) or willingness to undergo training.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a truck driver in a logistics or freight environment.
- Experience operating lifting and tipping devices, and performing loading and unloading tasks safely.
- Ability to manoeuvre vehicles in tight spaces with precision.
- Knowledge of safe loading and unloading practices, including securing cargo.
- Strong attention to safety and compliance with traffic regulations and company policies.
- Good communication skills to liaise with warehouse teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently while managing time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy loads, and performing vehicle inspections.
- Comfortable driving long hours in various weather conditions and across diverse terrains.
