Spray Seal Labourer
- Assist with preparation and completion of bitumen spray sealing operations.
- Perform safe labouring duties including shovelling, raking, and unloading trucks.
- Follow directions from senior management and adhere to health and safety policies.
Austek Roads (ACT) are seeking a casual Spray Seal Labourer to join our team in Hume, ACT.
What you'll be doing
- Assist with the preparation and completion of bitumen spray sealing operations
- Safe labouring duties may include but not limited to shovelling and raking, running wheelbarrow, safely positioning and unloading trucks for spray seal operations
- Set out and retrieve traffic control signs, cones, and equipment as required.
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment
- Support the spray truck and aggregate spreading crews.
- Follow direction of Crew leader, site foreperson, project manager and other senior managers
- Safe manual handling practises
- Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
What we're looking for
- Current driver's licence and ability to obtain necessary construction certifications
- White card
- Silica and Asbestos awareness training
- Demonstrated experience in Roadworks, desired
- Proficient in the operation and maintenance of bitumen spraying equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to achieve consistent, quality results
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the construction crew
- Commitment to workplace health and safety
