The Social Media team within the Marketing & Content pillar drives UNSW's social media strategy, covering strategic advice, content creation, editorial planning, community management, and reporting. 

Reporting to the Social Media Specialist, International, the Social Media Officer (China) plays a key role in supporting the management of UNSW’s Chinese social media communities and delivering engaging, consistent content. Key responsibilities include assisting in implementing the university’s social media strategy for China, creating in-language content with a clear brand voice, managing community interactions, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver high-value content and social media support. 

Who You Are:  

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience. 
  • Chinese language proficiency, with a strong understanding of the Chinese cultural landscape and social media ecosystem.  
  • Proven experience in supporting a social media strategy – managing communities and creating content for Chinese social media platforms including RedNote and WeChat. 
  • Strong content creation and storytelling skills, with experience developing engaging written and video content for digital audiences. 
  • Strong knowledge of social media audience behaviour, platform trends and emerging developments across the Chinese digital landscape. 
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work flexibly when required.
