The Opportunity

MinRes is seeking a Site Hydrogeologist to support our Lithium Operations on a 4x3 or a 4x3x8x6 roster.

You’ll provide site-based hydrogeological support to keep water supply, borefield operations and mine dewatering safe, compliant and reliable across our lithium sites.

Reporting to the Senior Hydrogeologist, you'll be accountable for field execution, data collection, operational analysis and reporting. You'll act as the day-to-day interface between site operations and the hub hydro team, ensuring high-quality data, early issue identification and clear communication to support planning, modelling, compliance and operational decisions.

You'll work closely with Site Operations (Mining, Processing, Tailings, NPI), the Senior Hydrogeologist and Hub Hydro Team, the Site Environment team, drilling contractors, Water Engineering, Modelling, Approvals, and Survey/GIS teams.

Your primary responsibilities

  • Operations interface: Monitor borefield and dewatering performance using SCADA and field checks, and escalate issues early with recommendations.
  • Data integrity: Collect, validate and QA/QC groundwater data, loggers and telemetry, and maintain bore databases and GIS datasets.
  • Field work: Complete scheduled dips, bore checks and inspections, including seepage inspections and downhole camera work.
  • Drilling and testing: Support drilling and aquifer testing programmes, including contractor coordination, approvals and data QA/QC.
  • Reporting and compliance: Prepare site water reports, support modelling, TARPs and compliance submissions, and coordinate with Operations, Environment and technical teams.

What is required?

  • Tertiary qualifications in Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Geology or a related field (or working towards).
  • Experience or exposure to groundwater monitoring, borefield operations or mine dewatering within a mining or resource project context.
  • Sound understanding of groundwater data collection, QA/QC processes, and telemetry/SCADA systems.
  • Working knowledge of WA water legislation, licensing and regulatory frameworks, including DWER protocols, is highly regarded.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating drilling and aquifer testing programmes, including field data collection and QA/QC.
  • Ability to interpret and apply hydrogeological data and monitoring trends to support operational decision-making.
  • Strong attention to detail and data integrity, with a methodical approach to field work and reporting.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across Operations, Maintenance, Environment and technical teams.
