Site Engineer (Mechanical Services / HVAC) | Cairns, QLD (On-site) Site Engineer

Opportunity for a permanent position on a major healthcare project in Cairns (site-based). We’re open to candidates who are local or willing to relocate.

The OpportunityJoin a delivery-focused project team responsible for the successful execution of a large-scale mechanical services package. This role suits a technically strong Site Engineer who can manage the day-to-day engineering function on site and drive outcomes across quality, programme, and safety.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage design coordination and support the delivery team with engineering input
• Raise and track RFIs, technical queries, and submittals
• Support procurement planning and package tracking
• Coordinate with subcontractors, supervisors, and commissioning teams
• Provide technical oversight across installation methodologies including:
  • Chilled water and heating hot water
  • Ventilation systems
  • BMS interfaces
  • Medical support systems and associated services
• Maintain strong focus on QA/compliance, documentation, and site reporting
• Proactively identify and resolve construction/design issues
• Communicate effectively with consultants, builders, and client reps

About You

• Mechanical Engineering qualification(or equivalent)
• Proven site-based delivery experience across HVAC / mechanical services projects
• Healthcare project experience is essential
• Strong knowledge of mechanical services installation and commissioning processes
• Confident stakeholder management and clear communication style
• Experience in live hospital environments or other critical infrastructure(highly regarded)
