Law Staff is partnering with a highly regarded Brisbane firm to appoint an experienced Lawyer to its established Wills & Estates practice. This is an opportunity to work directly with a QLS Accredited Specialist in Succession Law who is consistently recognised by Best Lawyers and Doyle's Guide for both succession planning and Wills & Estates litigation.
  
The practice advises across the full spectrum of succession law, ranging from straightforward estate planning through to sophisticated matters involving high-net-worth individuals, complex business and trust structures, blended families, asset protection and contested estates.
  
The Practice
You will have exposure to a broad and technically interesting practice encompassing:

• Complex estate planning and succession strategies
• Estate administration, including complex estates
• Wills and testamentary trusts
• Trusts, structuring and asset protection
• Superannuation and succession considerations
• Enduring Powers of Attorney and Advance Health Directives
• Estate litigation and contested Wills
• Guardianship and administration matters
• Matters involving business interests, family dynamics and complex asset structures

The Opportunity
You will have the autonomy to manage matters while continuing to work closely with and learn from a recognised specialist in the field. Depending on your experience and interests, the role can provide exposure across both advisory and contentious succession work. You will also have the opportunity to mentor more junior practitioners and contribute to the continued development of an established practice.
  
This could particularly suit a senior succession lawyer looking to deepen their technical expertise, work on more sophisticated matters and build their career within a practice with strong specialist credentials.
  
About You
Ideally, you will bring:

• 5+ years' PAE with substantial Wills & Estates / succession law experience
• Strong estate administration and/or estate planning experience
• Experience with complex estates, trusts, testamentary trusts or succession structures
• Exposure to estate litigation or contested estates will be highly regarded
• The confidence to manage matters and client relationships with appropriate autonomy
• Strong technical, drafting and interpersonal skills
• A practical approach to resolving complex and sometimes sensitive matters

Existing specialist accreditation is welcomed but certainly not essential. Lawyers interested in continuing to develop their specialist succession expertise are encouraged to apply.
