About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join our team on site in Newcastle, on the Steel River BESS Project. Reporting to the Project Manager you will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of site-based construction activities, developing and maintaining best-practice planning systems and documents, and proactively assisting the Project Manager and Site Manager to meet contractual obligations.
In addition, some of your key tasks will include:
- Develop, revise and maintain the baseline construction programme in consultation with Construction team with all constraints, milestones, relationships, dependencies and float clearly shown.
- Ensure schedules are fully aligned with estimate and InEight original budget hours, and use SCEE activity coding for consistent filtering, sorting and reporting views.
- Produce and maintain time-phased manning and S-curve data (planned vs actual workforce, by discipline or craft) to support estimates and workforce planning.
- Maintain the contract schedule of works identifying undesirable trends in productivity and opportunities for optimisation of the works.
- Ensure project and tender schedules are fully aligned with estimate original budget hours and InEight original budget hours.
- Drive four-week look ahead schedule reviews, on a weekly frequency, with construction team to ensure plans are realistic and achievable.
About You
To be successful in this position you will have at least 5 years’ experience in a Senior Planning role within the construction industry, and hold tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering, or another related field.
You will be highly proficient in the use of P6 with strong knowledge of planning practices, standards, systems and processes as well as being able to demonstrate your excellent communication and influencing skills and high-level attention to detail and compliance.
You will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Previous experience in cost forecasting and ensuring planned work is within the completion date of the project and the scheduled timing and costs are compatible with the work plan.
- Understanding and experience in critical pathway analysis.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Well-developed numeracy and analytical skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a high functioning team.
