About the organisation

This is an organisation with a strong reputation as an employer of choice and crucially, that investment in employee experience extends to Payroll.

You’ll be joining a business that values accessible, organised and inclusive people functions, and is about to embark on a major systems transformation. The payroll team is competent, seamless and stable, with a collaborative and professional culture. Payroll is a vital component of the employee life cycle, rather than viewed as a transactional function.

Why join?

The payroll is a manageable 750 employees fortnightly, the team structure is established, and the role offers hybrid working with two days in the office, including Thursday as the team’s anchor day.

It’s a strong opportunity to step into a stable, respected payroll environment where the function is valued and supported.

We are looking for an experienced Payroll professional to join the team for an initial contract of three months with the opportunity for extension.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work across the payroll cycle, to drive operational efficiency, while a key team member is on extended leave.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be an experienced payroll professional who can assimilate quickly into a new payroll environment.

iChris / Chris21 experience is essential for this role, along with:

  • End-to-end payroll processing across a fortnightly pay cycle, delivered accurately and within agreed deadlines

  • Ensuring payroll compliance within the relevant legislative and regulatory environment

  • Monitoring payroll variance analysis and processing changes to payroll codes and employee data

  • Providing responsive payroll query resolution with a strong customer service focus

  • Preparing complex payroll calculations including redundancies, long service leave

  • Managing statutory deductions and obligations including Payroll Tax, Superannuation and Workers Compensation

  • Supporting month-end and year-end payroll activities, reconciliations, reporting and audit requirements

  • Maintaining and enhancing payroll procedures and process documentation

Why join?

You’ll be joining a tenured and friendly team within an organisation recognised for its workplace culture. The role is perfect for an experienced contractor, or a candidate looking for an interim role while planning extended leave.

If you’re an experienced Payroll professional with strong ichris or Chris 21 capability and are available for a three month contract, please don't hesitate to apply.
