Our client is a major government-owned energy provider with a diverse portfolio of generation assets, including thermal, wind, solar, and hybrid systems across Western Australia. Their Generation Business Unit plans and delivers vital construction and infrastructure projects that support the states energy future.

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to support contaminated sites and remediation activities, ensuring compliance with legal and corporate environmental requirements. This Perth-based role includes weekly travel to operational sites and will play a key role in delivering contaminated site investigations, remediation programs, waste management initiatives, and environmental compliance activities. You will work closely with operational, project, and HSE stakeholders to achieve sustainable and cost-effective environmental outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support contaminated site investigations, assessments, and remediation projects.
  • Provide technical advice on contaminated land and waste management.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the implementation of long-term contaminated sites programs.
  • Prepare tender documentation and review contractor submissions.
  • Conduct environmental audits and support compliance monitoring activities.
  • Provide environmental risk assessment and management support.
  • Support waste minimisation and resource recovery initiatives.
  • Review consultant reports and contractor documentation.
  • Deliver technical guidance and environmental awareness across the business

Skills and Experience Required

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • 5-10 years' experience delivering contaminated sites investigations and remediation projects.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience with environmental risk assessment and management.
  • Strong report writing, research, and technical documentation skills.
  • Understanding of WA environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with environmental management systems, monitoring, and compliance programs.
  • Experience in contract management, closure planning, water quality monitoring, or environmental approvals is highly regarded.
  • Valid Drivers Licence and reliable transport
