Your new company
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Communications Officer to join a busy and collaborative communications team within a large government organisation. Working on high-profile initiatives, you will support the delivery of strategic communications, marketing campaigns and stakeholder engagement activities across a range of projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a communications professional who enjoys a varied role and can confidently manage multiple priorities.
Your new role
Reporting to the Communications Manager, you will play a key role in developing and delivering communication initiatives that support organisational objectives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing communication and marketing plans
  • Creating high-quality written content for a variety of channels
  • Supporting and delivering communication campaigns
  • Managing website updates and digital content
  • Preparing briefing materials, information packs and stakeholder communications
  • Coordinating and delivering smaller communications projects
  • Assisting with internal and external stakeholder engagement activities
  • Working closely with project teams to provide strategic communications advice

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a communications, marketing or stakeholder engagement role
  • Exceptional written communication and editing skills
  • Experience delivering communication campaigns from planning through to implementation
  • Strong digital communications capability, including website content management
  • Experience using CMS platforms and design tools such as Canva
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to work
  • Government experience will be highly regarded but is not essential
