Senior Associate | Traffic & Transport Engineering
Shape the growth of a new SA operation with a pathway to leadership and ownership.
The Opportunity
An established, privately owned specialist traffic and transport engineering consultancy is growing its presence in South Australia and is looking to appoint a Senior Associate to play a key role in that growth.
Working closely with Directors and senior leaders, you will lead complex projects, develop key client relationships and help shape the local business, with the opportunity to build and lead a team around you as the Adelaide operation grows.
Importantly, you will not be starting from scratch. The consultancy has already invested in the South Australian market, established local networks and secured project opportunities. You will have the backing of an experienced interstate team and senior technical specialists, giving you the support to capitalise on existing opportunities while helping drive the next stage of growth.
The Role
As Senior Associate, you will combine technical leadership, project delivery, client management, people leadership and business development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading complex traffic and transport projects from inception to delivery
- Providing senior technical direction across your areas of expertise
- Managing project scope, commercial performance and risk
- Building and developing key client and stakeholder relationships
- Identifying opportunities for repeat and new work
- Mentoring and developing engineers as the local team grows
- Contributing to business planning and the growth of the SA operation

You will ideally bring:
- 10+ years' experience within traffic and transport engineering
- A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent
- Strong technical capability across one or more transport disciplines
- Experience leading complex projects and managing commercial outcomes
- Strong client relationship management and business development capability
- The ability to lead, mentor and develop others
- Professional Engineering Registration, or the ability to achieve registration
