Hays is partnering with a respected organisation to recruit a Safeguarding Manager on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract with a strong likelihood of extension. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced safeguarding practitioner to step into a senior leadership position with responsibility for strategy, investigations, compliance, training, assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Your new role
Reporting to a senior executive leader, you will lead the organisation's safeguarding function and be responsible for ensuring best-practice safeguarding frameworks, compliance, and risk management processes are embedded across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead safeguarding strategy, compliance and risk management initiatives
  • Manage safeguarding incidents and oversee complex investigations
  • Provide trusted advice to executive and governance stakeholders
  • Develop and enhance safeguarding frameworks, policies and training
  • Drive legislative compliance, assurance reporting and continuous improvement
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and foster a positive safeguarding culture

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in safeguarding, child protection, community services, risk, investigations, or a related field
  • Strong investigation experience, including interviewing vulnerable individuals
  • Sound knowledge of Child Safe Standards, Reportable Conduct Schemes, and safeguarding legislation
  • Experience developing policies, frameworks, compliance programs, and training initiatives
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving capabilities
  • A current Blue Card or ability to obtain one
