About the Role
ZAM ASHGROVE PTY LTD is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our retail business in Ashgrove.
The successful applicant will be responsible for managing retail operations, leading staff, achieving sales and financial targets, maintaining appropriate stock levels, managing suppliers and ensuring consistently high standards of customer service.
This is a hands-on management position suited to an organised and commercially focused individual with demonstrated retail management experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the retail business.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales, revenue and profitability targets.
- Manage purchasing, inventory and stock control.
- Monitor stock levels, stock movements and stocktake processes.
- Coordinate ordering, receiving, storage and presentation of merchandise.
- Monitor product pricing, displays and merchandising standards.
- Develop and implement promotional activities to increase sales.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, sales forecasts and operating expenses.
- Analyse sales and financial information and identify opportunities to improve business performance.
- Recruit, train, supervise and manage retail employees.
- Prepare staff rosters and allocate duties according to operational requirements.
- Lead and motivate staff to achieve sales and customer service targets.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and handle customer complaints and enquiries.
- Liaise with suppliers and service providers.
- Ensure the store is maintained to a high standard of presentation, cleanliness and safety.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and relevant legislation.
- Maintain accurate records relating to sales, stock, staffing and financial transactions.
- Review operational procedures and implement improvements where required.
- Contribute to the overall growth and development of the business.
Essential Requirements
- AQF Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Retail Management, Business, Management, Commerce or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant qualifications and experience.
- Minimum 1 years of relevant full-time experience in retail management or a closely related management role.
- Demonstrated experience supervising and managing retail staff.
- Strong knowledge of stock control, purchasing and retail operations.
- Experience managing sales targets, budgets and operating expenses.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and make effective management decisions.
- Ability to lead, train and motivate a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
