Registered Nurse – Night Duty | Be the Calm in Someone's Night

We're looking for an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Residential Aged Care (ResCare) team on a fixed-term, part-time contract covering long service leave.

 Your Nights, Your Roster

Enjoy the consistency of a rotating fortnightly roster, giving you the opportunity to plan your life around your shifts.

Contract: 1 November 2026 – Mid-February 2027
Location: Scarborough, Brisbane's beautiful Redcliffe Peninsula
Shift Times: 10:00pm – 6:45am

Your Fortnightly Roster:

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday
Week 2: Monday & Sunday

That's six overnight shifts per fortnight, with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts when available.

There may also be opportunities for future contracts or ongoing employment, depending on performance and operational requirements.

As our night-duty RN, you'll be a trusted clinical presence for residents and colleagues, ensuring our community remains safe, comfortable and supported throughout the night.

You'll be responsible for:

• Providing safe, compassionate and evidence-based nursing care to our residential aged care community.
• Using your clinical judgement to assess, monitor and respond to changes in residents' health and wellbeing.
• Supporting residents living with dementia, complex care needs and those receiving palliative care.
• Providing clinical guidance and reassurance to Personal Care Workers throughout your shift.
• Administering medications, maintaining accurate clinical documentation and ensuring continuity of care.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure residents receive individualised, person-centred care.
• Creating a calm, respectful and reassuring environment where residents feel safe, valued and supported.

Most importantly, you'll be someone our residents and team can count on, even at 3am.

Does This Sound Like You?

We're looking for an RN who brings a combination of clinical confidence, compassion and a genuine love for aged care.

You'll need:

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Previous nursing experience in residential aged care.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Confidence working overnight and responding calmly to changing clinical situations.
• Excellent communication, documentation and teamwork skills.
• A genuine commitment to resident dignity, choice and positive ageing.

Additional Requirements

• Satisfactory National Police Check (arranged and paid for by BallyCara).
• Evidence of current Australian working rights.
• COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations are strongly encouraged.
