Quality Control Associate
- Conduct seed quality testing across crops
- Support research and breeding programs
- Maintain and improve seed quality from testing through to production
This is a unique opportunity for someone with a background in quality control whether it's within agriculture, science, laboratory testing or seed research to work at the intersection of quality control, research and commercial seed production.
You'll be working across both laboratory operations and a state-of-the-art pilot line, conducting seed testing, supporting research and breeding programs, analysing data and providing critical information to production teams.
Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, you will play an important role in maintaining and improving seed quality from testing through to production.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting seed quality testing across crops
- Planning and executing pilot-line testing projects
- Testing incoming crops prior to commercial production
- Preparing, processing, labelling and storing seed samples
- Collecting, analysing and reporting test data to support timely production decisions
- Supporting research and seed testing programs focused on product improvement and breeding
- Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment in accordance with SOPs and quality standards
- Ensuring testing procedures comply with relevant ISTA guidelines
- Identifying and communicating non-conformances
- Maintaining accurate laboratory records, databases and reports
- Contributing to method improvements, root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
- Developing and maintaining SOPs, work instructions and technical documentation
We're looking for someone who combines strong attention to detail with a genuine interest in agriculture, science and research.
You will ideally have:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field OR minimum 2 years experience working within Quality Control
- An understanding of laboratory procedures
- Practical experience in field-based agriculture or research will be highly regarded
- Strong data management and documentation skills
- Experience with Office 365 and ERP systems
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to work effectively within a research-focused environment
- A current Australian driver's licence
