  • Additional superannuation matching up to 5%

The Opportunity

As a Property Management and Maintenance Officer, you will:

  • Undertake routine inspection of Council buildings and infrastructure (including but not limited to asset furniture, rotundas, stairs and boardwalks)
  • Report any defects and report needs to the Supervisor
  • Carry out minor repairs including carpentry, painting, patching and fittings replacement
  • Assess building defects reported by tenants or uses of City facilities and undertake timely repairs
  • Support the delivery of programmed and reactive works for City owned facilities and City infrastructure eg: shelters, street furniture and other timber structures to a high standard
  • Ensure all City of Bunbury lighting installations are maintained in an electrically safe condition
  • Ensure the continued and safe operation of City of Bunbury electrical installations and equipment with an emphasis on identifying essential maintenance services associated to key infrastructure
  • Design and manufacture City signage requirements, including external signage fabrication requests.

This is a physical, practical role with a strong customer service focus - perfect for someone with trade skills who enjoys problem soling and variety in their day.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Previous experience in general building or facilities maintenance
  • Practical knowledge of WHS requirements and safety-first work habits
  • Basic skills across multiple trades (eg: patching, painting, plumbing, carpentry)
  • Confidence using hand tools, power tools and digital systems for work orders
  • A current Class Driver's Licence and White Card

You'll also need to work well independently and as part of a small team, with good communication and a proactive attitude.

Desirable qualifications included a Forklift ticket, EWP certificate or experience working in a government or facilities environment.
