Project Delivery Lead | Cyber Security Uplift Program

• Duration: Contract until June 2027 + Extensions
• Location: Sydney or Melbourne preferred
• Rate: $1,000 + Super daily
• Immediate start required.

A major organisation operating within a highly regulated and critical infrastructure environment is seeking an experienced Project Delivery Lead to drive a significant Essential 8 cyber security uplift program.
Importantly, this role will be responsible for taking a complex portfolio of security initiatives from mobilisation and business case development through to implementation, governance, operational readiness and transition into BAU.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on, delivery-focused senior project/program leader who is comfortable operating in complex environments and able to start making an immediate impact.

The Role
An initial priority will be establishing delivery foundations, confirming scope, assessing dependencies and translating a prioritised uplift backlog into an integrated and achievable delivery roadmap.
You will lead the development of a compelling business case to secure funding and executive approval, before taking ownership of end-to-end delivery across the program.
Responsibilities will include:

• Leading program mobilisation and delivery planning
• Developing business cases, funding submissions and delivery options
• Managing integrated schedules, milestones, risks and dependencies
• Overseeing budgets, forecasts and change control processes
• Driving governance, reporting and executive communications
• Coordinating internal teams, vendors and delivery partners
• Maintaining delivery discipline across multiple concurrent workstreams
• Supporting senior leadership and governance forums with clear, concise reporting

About You
You will bring proven experience leading complex Essential 8 cyber security programs, preferably within large, highly regulated, critical infrastructure enterprise environments.
We are particularly interested in professionals who have successfully:

• Hands-on experience driving Essential Eight Maturity Level 2 uplift programs within complex enterprise-critical infrastructure environments.
• Mobilised large cyber security programs from the ground up
• Developed and secured approval for significant business cases or investment initiatives
• Led delivery through implementation and operational transition
• Managed multiple workstreams, stakeholders and delivery partners
• Operated within strong governance and regulatory environments

Required Experience

• Essential Eight maturity uplift program delivery experience
• Security compliance or cyber resilience initiatives
• Critical infrastructure, telecommunications, utilities, transport or government environments
• Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI), ISM or equivalent regulatory frameworks
• Vendor and commercial management experience
• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or related certifications
