KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, organise and oversee daily confectionery manufacturing operations to ensure production targets and customer requirements are achieved.
- Develop and manage production schedules based on customer orders, available materials, staffing levels and manufacturing capacity.
- Supervise production teams and coordinate their daily activities to maintain efficient workflows and consistent product quality.
- Monitor the availability and use of raw materials, ingredients, packaging supplies and manufacturing equipment to minimise production delays.
- Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure confectionery products meet company specifications, food safety requirements and relevant industry standards.
- Review manufacturing processes and introduce improvements to increase productivity, reduce material wastage and control operational costs.
- Coordinate with purchasing, warehousing and distribution teams to ensure materials are available and finished products are delivered according to schedule.
- Monitor production costs, labour requirements and equipment utilisation, and assist management in preparing manufacturing budgets and operational forecasts.
- Ensure manufacturing activities comply with workplace health and safety requirements, food hygiene standards and company operating procedures.
- Oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of production machinery and coordinate necessary repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
- Train, guide and evaluate production staff to maintain performance standards, safe working practices and effective teamwork.
- Prepare and review production reports, monitor key performance indicators and provide management with updates on manufacturing efficiency, quality and production outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A relevant qualification in Manufacturing, Production Management, Engineering, Operations Management or a related field.
- Relevant experience in production management, preferably within food processing, confectionery manufacturing or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, manufacturing processes, quality assurance and workplace safety.
- Experience in supervising production teams, managing resources and improving operational efficiency.
- Good organisational, leadership, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene procedures and manufacturing compliance requirements.
