Programmed Apprenticeships & Traineeships, in partnership with Tronox, is offering an exciting opportunity to join the team at Tronox's Chandala Processing Complex as a Process Plant Operations Trainee.

Over 24 months, you'll work towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Process Plant Operations while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a large-scale mineral processing environment.

As a Process Plant Operator Trainee, you'll learn the practical skills and knowledge required to work safely and effectively within a mineral processing environment. Working alongside experienced operators, you'll receive structured on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring while developing an understanding of plant operations, equipment, processes and safety standards.

During your traineeship, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Complete a Certificate III in Process Plant Operations
  • Gain practical, hands-on experience in a large-scale processing environment
  • Learn from experienced operators and industry professionals
  • Receive ongoing training, coaching and mentoring
  • Develop valuable technical and operational skills
  • Experience an even time roster
  • Build the foundations for a rewarding career in the resources and processing industry

What you'll bring

We're looking for people who are enthusiastic, reliable and ready to learn. You'll bring a positive attitude, a curious mind and most importantly, a genuine commitment to working safely.

To be considered, you will need:

  • Completion of secondary schooling
  • The ability and willingness to work a rotating shift roster (inc both days and nights)
  • A basic mechanical understanding
  • A current WA driver's licence and reliable transport
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to safe work practices
  • The physical fitness required to work in a physically demanding operational environment
  • The ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and ongoing drug and alcohol screening

Your workplace - Tronox Chandala

Located approximately 60 kilometres north of Perth, Tronox's Chandala Processing Complex includes a mineral separation plant, synthetic rutile plant and residue management plant.

The site forms an important part of Tronox's Western Australian operations, processing mineral sands into valuable products supplied to international markets.

Please note: These are residential/local positions (Drive in / Drive out). Housing and housing allowances are not provided as part of the traineeship.
