Principal Azure Engineer- AKS- Major Australian Org

A major Australian organisation is currently seeking a Principal Azure Engineer with expert AKS experience at scale for a large container hosting project. Initially a 6 month contract likely to extend.
Responsibilities:

• Work with the peer Principal Engineer and platform leadership team to set the platform's technical strategy and multi-year direction
• Design and deploying resilient cloud architectures across Azure and ideally GCP, optimising environment for performance, security, and cost efficiency, and managing automation. 
• Build and operate the GitOps delivery model
• Build the developer-facing platform experience and self-service abstractions
• Build platform observability and SLO tooling
• Write production-grade Go and Python — Kubernetes operators, controllers, automation and platform services.

Key Skills / Experience

• Deep, hands-on production Kubernetes at scale — AKS and GKE ideally
• In depth hands on Azure experience in a large enterprise environment
• GCP highly desirable
• Strong terraform
• Experience building / running an internal developer platform
• GitOps delivery with Harness GitOps and the Argo suite
• Cell-based / microservice architecture and multi-tenant platform design.
• Relevant certifications (CKA/CKAD/CKS, Azure)
